FAQ

1. WHICH AREAS OF NANAIMO DO YOU DELIVER TO?

Currently we service Nanaimo and Lantzville & Nanoose Bay.  If you live outside of these areas, we do offer a contactless pick-up service in North Nanaimo, just opt for "pick-up" at checkout.

2. WHICH DAYS DO DELIVERIES TAKE PLACE?

We deliver on Wednesdays.  Cut-off for next day delivery is 5pm the day prior.

3.  HOW MUCH DOES DELIVERY COST?

Local delivery is free of charge for all orders over $25.  If you are under this amount, we charge a $5.00 delivery fee.  We also offer a free local pick-up option which has no order minimum.

4.  HOW DOES THE BOTTLE DEPOSIT WORK?

We charge an upfront fee of $1.00 per jar, $2.00 per plastic pump bottle and $5.00 for growlers which is fully refunded upon safe return.  This deposit is applied for every applicable item per order. 

Leave your empties on your doorstep for your next delivery day. Once our delivery driver has received your cleaned "empties",  a refund will be processed to the card you paid with.  

5. WHAT IF I'M NOT DONE WITH A JAR ON MY DELIVERY DAY?

No problem!  You can keep your jars as long as you like.  Credits will be applied once they are received back to us.

​6. DO I WASH MY JARS BEFORE LEAVING THEM OUT FOR PICK-UP?

Yes, we ask that jars and lids are cleaned before leaving out for pick up. They are safe to run through the dishwasher.  We do a secondary sanitization before putting them back into rotation.

7. WHERE DO I LEAVE MY JARS FOR PICK UP?

We recommend leaving your empty jars in a convenient location that is easy for us to access.  Please make a note on you order so we know where to find them.  You can place jars in a box/bag/bin, or just out on the front porch.  We ask that you have your jars out ready for pick-up by 9am on delivery day.

8.  WHAT IS THE BEST METHOD TO REFILL MY IN-HOME VESSLE'S ONCE I RECEIVE MY REFILL?

We suggest using a large funnel to pour each item into your desired container at home.  We automatically send a funnel with your first order.  If you already have one at home, feel free to make note on your order, or leave ours out for return on your next delivery.

9. HOW DO I KNOW WHAT VOLUME TO REFILL?  

We currently offer liquid refills in 500ML, 750 ML & 1L volumes.  Check your intended refill container at home to decide what volume you will need.  You can also order multiples!

10. CAN I CREATE A MONTHLY RECURRING ORDER?

Yes!  We want to make refilling as simple and convenient as possible.  Shoot us an email at orders@pedestriangeneral.com to set it up!  We offer a 5% discount for our subscription customers, and you can cancel anytime. 

*Please note that the $25 monthly minimum for free delivery still applies.

11. WHAT ARE YOUR COVID-19 PROCEDURES?

Our customers health and safety is of extreme importance to us.  Returned jars are ALWAYS sanitized and dried before refilling, and additionally wiped down after refill.  

12. CAN I BRING MY OWN CONTAINERS FOR REFILL IN STORE?

Unfortunately we do not offer a continuous in-store refill service at this time but we do pop-up shops regularly and encourage you to follow us on social media for more details.
